Home Visits

Your attendance at the Surgery is preferred whenever possible but if you are genuinely unable to come to the Surgery and a home visit is essential please telephone 01243 782819 BEFORE 10.30am.

The Doctor may telephone you to discuss your medical condition and decide on the most appropriate place for the consultation. Any requests for a home visit AFTER 10.30am will be dealt with by the Duty Doctor.

Telephone Consultations with the Doctor/Nurse

Your Doctor or Practice Nurse are available to speak with you on the telephone. Please ring the Receptionists who will be able to advise you on the best time to speak to a Doctor or Practice Nurse.

Out of Hours

Should you require urgent medical attention when the Surgery is closed and you are unable to wait until the Surgery re-opens, please telephone 01243 782819 and you will be given instructions on how to contact the Duty Doctor.

You may be offered an appointment at an Out of Hours Centre which will run emergency surgeries during the evenings and weekends.

Please note that a home visit will be made on medical grounds only.

When telephoning this number you will be given instructions on how to contact the Duty Doctor for WSDOC. Alternatively, for immediate reassurance and free expert advice when the Surgery is closed, you may telephone NHS Direct on 0845 4647 which is available 24 hours a day.

Visitors from Overseas

Visitors from outside of the United Kingdom, who are temporarily resident in the Practice area, may be requested to pay for any consultation and subsequent treatment from one of the Doctors.

If a reciprocal arrangement between their country and the UK does not exist, visitors from overseas are invited to enquire from the Medical Reception Staff if a fee will be payable before an appointment with a Doctor is arranged.

Non NHS / Private Medical Fees

There are some services which are not provided under the National Health Service. Services such as:

  • Private Patient Forms
  • Vaccination Certificates
  • Holiday Cancellation Forms
  • Private Sickness Certificates
  • Insurance Medicals
  • Driving Medicals
  • Some Holiday Vaccinations

These services fall outside the NHS and a fee will be charged within recommended guidelines.

Test Results

If your Doctor has recommended that you should have a test to assist with a diagnosis, your Doctor will contact you if your test results indicate that further treatment is required.

You should NOT telephone the Surgery unless your Doctor has asked you to do so, in which case, your telephone call should be made between 2.30pm and 6.00pm.
